JOB SCOPE:

 

Perform a variety of clerical and secretarial functions in the processing of students and student records, including matters of a confidential nature. Responsible for computer input and retrieval and must make a variety of decisions within a framework of established procedures. Tasks are related to student records, schedules, attendance, enrollment, testing, and a variety of student-teacher record keeping. Must be detail-oriented, able to work effectively with students, administrative and instructional staff, school employees, and the central office staff.

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma and College Education
  • 2-year degree preferred
  • Secretary experience preferred
  • Knowledge of modern office methods, practices, procedures, and computer operations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in performing assigned tasks
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and follow instructions
  • Ability to respond in a caring manner in interaction with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to compile information, maintain extensive transcript records, prepare reports, analyze transcripts carefully and adopt effective courses of action
  • Familiar with school procedures, record keeping, and retention requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

 

COMPENSATION

  • Wage Schedule: $20.62-$26.59 per hour (2024-25 salary schedule TBD)
  • Work days: 201 (10 months)
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Life insurance, AD&D, Long term disability included (Optional insurances available)
  • Personal days, Sick days 
  • JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
