LOCATION: Metolius Elementary

HOURS: 5.75 hours/day
WAGES: $14.48 - $ 18.95 / Hour
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
At the direction of the principal, assists special education teachers by performing a variety of tasks that promote student learning, well-being and IEP goal attainment. Duties involve working with students with disabilities individually and in small groups assessing performance, reinforcing instruction, motivating learning, assisting with behavior management, clerical, and other non-instructional work.

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Must be “Highly Qualified”
- Collaborative team player and positive attitude
- Is dependable, flexible, receptive to feedback/coaching
- Experience as an Educational Assistant II (Life skills) preferred
- Knows how to work with kids on the ASD spectrum
To be “Highly Qualified”, an Educational Assistant requires a high school diploma or the equivalent, and one of the following:
- An Associate's degree
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education - 72 credit hours
- Passed the District Assessment for educational assistants in the areas of reading, writing, math and pedagogy
