POSITION: Educational Assistant II (Behavioral)           (Probationary Permanent)                      

LOCATION:  Warm Springs K-8 Academy              

CLOSING DATE:  Open until filled

START DATE:  Soon as possible
 

HOURS:  5.75 hours/day

STARTING WAGES:   $13.42 / Hour (2018-2019 Wage schedule to be determined)

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

At the direction of the principal, assists special education teachers by performing a variety of tasks that promote student learning, well-being and IEP goal attainment. Duties involve working with students with disabilities individually and in small groups assessing performance, reinforcing instruction, motivating learning, assisting with behavior management, clerical, and other non-instructional work.

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

• Must be “Highly Qualified” (See Below)
• Experience Preferred

To be “Highly Qualified”, an Educational Assistant requires a high school diploma or the equivalent, and one of the following:

• An Associate's degree
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education - 72 credit hours
• Passed the District Assessment for educational assistants in the areas of reading, writing, math and pedagogy.
