POSITION: Educational Assistant II (Life Skills)                      Probationary / Permanent

LOCATION:  Transition Center

CLOSING DATE:  Open until filled

START DATE: August 30, 2018

HOURS:  5.75 hours/day

STARTING WAGES:   $13.42 / hour    (2018 – 2019 Classified wage schedule to be determined)                    

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

• Valid Oregon Driver's license
• Must be eligible for an Oregon Bus Driver Certificate and have a good driving record
• Must be willing to train to receive Bus Driver Certificate
• Certification of good health signed by licensed physician
• Obtain First aid/CPR card
• Experience working with students preferred
• Must be “Highly Qualified”

To be “Highly Qualified”, an Educational Assistant requires a high school diploma or the equivalent, and one of the following:

• An Associate's degree
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education - 72 credit hours
• Passed the District Assessment for educational assistants in the areas of reading, writing, math and  pedagogy
