POSITION:  Childcare Educational Assistant I                        (Probationary Permanent)

LOCATION:  Madras High School

CLOSING DATE:   Open until closed

DESIRED START DATE:  Soon as possible

HOURS:  5.75 hours / day                   

STARTING WAGES:    $12.88 - $14.01 /Hour                  

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:   

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be “Highly Qualified” (See Below)
• Must have 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Or documented 100 hours of childcare work
• First Aid / CPR Certified
• Food Handlers Card
• Registered with Oregon Professional Childcare Registry  http:// www.oregon.gov/occ/pages/index.aspx
• Childcare experience in a school environment preferred
• CDA Preferred

To be “Highly Qualified”, an Educational Assistant requires a high school diploma or the equivalent, and one of the following:     

• An Associate's degree
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education - 72 credit hours
• Passed the District Assessment for educational assistants in the areas of reading, writing, math and  pedagogy
